1/2c. milk or evaporated milk
1t. vanilla
1c. brown sugar
1c. or 1 can coconut
1/2-1c. chopped nuts (optional)
Dissolve thoroughly the sugar and milk in a large saucepan on medium heat. Add butter and cook. Stir almost constantly until mixture boils and becomes thick. Take from heat and stir in vanilla, nuts, and coconut. Pour on cake while hot.
